What Is Life Coaching?
It's a peer-to-peer experience where two or more people work together to address struggles and limitations while also acknowledging strengths and gifts.
My job as a life coach? It's essentially to offer an outside perspective on your experiences, a perspective that is informed by my own experiences, which likely mirror yours in many ways. Where our experiences do not match up, it is my job to find resources that do reflect your lived experience.
Sound good? Here are a few signs we'd be a good fit to work together:
You're curious. You want to learn more about neurodivergence and about yourself, and you need someone to hold your hand as you jump into the chasm between who you are now and who you want to be.
. . .
You're so sick of every therapist you've ever had praising you for your self-awareness, and totally missing how that self-awareness is actually destroying your life. I get it, I've been there, and I can help.
. . .
You want to love yourself. Heck, you'd settle for just kinda liking yourself, actually. I have gone from drowning in self-loathing to, yeah, actually kinda liking myself. I'd love to guide you through that process.
That being said, my life coaching isn't for everyone. Here are a few reasons you SHOULDN'T work with me:
Your primary struggles include food trauma or sexual trauma. I am not qualified to work with all kinds of struggles, and these specifically are definitely outside of my scope of practice. Another coach, or a therapist, would be a better fit.
. . .
You don't believe in Black Lives Matter, Free Palestine, and/or trans liberation. These are key values to me (see the Values page) and if we disagree on these fundamental human rights issues, we will not be a good fit to work together.
. . .
You are primarily looking for a diagnosis. I am happy to work with neurocurious folks who aren't sure where they fit under the neurodivergent umbrella, but I absolutely cannot diagnose anything. If you're looking for a diagnosis, I highly recommend checking out the Resources page, there are many options available there!
